PNO is a 501c3
As mentioned in last month’ s newsletter the PNO has formally filed with the federal government as a 501 c3 . With this legal update we won’ t be changing how we organize, but we are excited for the benefits the tax status will provide to our many neighborhood projects. Specifically, we are organizing a fundraising effort to support the mural project at Portal Park. As a 501 c3 we can develop consistent funding sources like tax deductible donations and grants. If you would like to contribute, reach out to potential sponsors, or help us with financial transparency please reach out and let us know how you could help!
ChargerFest
All are invited to join the Edison Elementary community on September 19th from 11am-1pm for Chargerfest. This an opportunity to support our
neighborhood Elementary School!
Gardens in Bloom
Shout out to our neighborhood gardeners who planted and have cared for the native garden at Portal Park! Stop by and see the flowers in
bloom! These plants were provided by the City’s Greenhouse which grew these native plant species from locally collected seeds. We’re excited and hopeful to expand this program throughout the neighborhood!
Citizen Boards
We wanted to pass along an opportunity to represent the neighborhood and have a voice on important matters in the City.
There are current spots open on the Airport Advisory Commission, the Audit Committee, the Independent Ethics Commission, the Initiative Review Committee, the Downtown Review Board, and the Stormwater Advisory Committee.
